After a stunning and original Casse-Noisette which captivated large audiences in Geneva and Europe, Jeroen Verbruggen returns with a musical world he is particularly fond of: baroque music. Through its complexity, virtuosity and desire to overturn conventions, his choreographic langage is in sync with the baroque style. A style characterised by the importance of counterpoint, which tends towards an expressive and contrasting harmony while leaving ample room for ornamentation. In this programme the choreographer for a time abandons narrative, in order to concentrate fully on his skilful and sophisticated gestural range.
