Karita Mattila

Duration: approx. 1:25 (with one intermission)

Her last recital at the Grand Théâtre de Genève dates back?to 14 April 1987, while her last appearance at the Place de Neuve was in September 1990, for the production of Simon Boccanegra. As part of a recital tour, we are delighted that the Finnish soprano can make a stopover in Geneva. She is equally at home with Italian and German repertories. A seasoned performer at the Met, where she began her career in 1990 with Donna Elvira, she charms audiences with her voice and her interpretation of spaces of infinite beauty. Karita Mattila never fails to stir the emotions, and in the eyes of the media she is the most electrifying opera singer. No genres are foreign to her and no one can resist her bewitchingly lyrical and sensual voice. She embodies caress, tenderness and tigress. Yes, she is the towering star that one must at all costs have seen and heard. When you leave the recital, you will understand why we call her "the Finnish Venus".
