Norma, a passionate tale of outstanding sophistication, a story of love, betrayal and elegance. Do you know Casta Diva? The mystical incantation to the Moon in the sacred forest is a prime example of the bel canto genre, calling for an exceptional performance not only in terms of vocal technique, but also emotional range. Thanks to his dramatic genius, Bellini resurrects the vestal virgins of Antiquity and allows Norma to carry both acts of his drama. Norma, having much in common with Medea, is troubled by a triangular conflict between human love, divine love and maternal love. This performance marks the return of Alexandra Deshorties, the breathtaking Medea of the 2014-2015 season.
