Snow Beard and the Seven Sleeping Little Pigs is a madcap cocktail of children’s fairy tales, shaken and stirred by Italian choreographer and stage director Laura Scozzi. She and her dancers take a bit of Disney, a bit of French can-can, a lot of insane violin music by Paganini and mix it all up in an extravaganza of slapstick, satire and subversion. Cinderella loses her sneakers, Red Riding Hood sports designer stubble and seven slutty Snow Whites hassle a handicapped dwarf. Laura Scozzi’s sweetly irreverent fantasy drives Mother Goose and her fusty fairy tales straight up the wall. A riotous, rollicking retelling of all your favourite fables, where dance, mime and theatre meet, in the hands (and feet) of eight very talented hip hop dancers.
