To the firmament of Canadian stars – Raoul Jobin, Teresa Stratas, Leopold Simoneau, and Jon Vickers – should now be added the name Marie-Nicole Lemieux. By winning the first prize in the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2000, as well as the special Lied prize, she has joined the most renowned and in-demand artists on the planet. An outstanding recitalist and performer of French and Russian music, as well as German Lied, she wins over her audience with her charisma, communicative exuberance and her voice, blessed with deep notes that are caressing or flamboyant at will. The recipient of an honorary doctorate from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, she regularly carries out recital tours of Europe together with the pianist Roger Vignoles (Venice, Rome, Vienna, Zurich, London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Madrid, Bilbao and more). We are delighted to welcome them to Geneva for a moment of pure pleasure.
